Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Kanz ul Ilm International, directed by Mufti Syed Muhammad Usman Bukhari ("we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Word-by-Word Quran Morphology Portal located at morphology.kanzulilm.com (the "Portal").

By accessing, browsing, or using this Portal in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue your use of this Portal.

Ownership & Copyright

The Portal — including, without limitation, its visual design, user interface, layout, navigation structure, source code, JavaScript logic, CSS styling, typographic presentation, colour scheme, Arabic-English morphology display framework, transliteration system, Urdu grammatical terminology, and all editorial choices governing the presentation of data — is the exclusive intellectual property of Kanz ul Ilm International.

This Portal is protected under the following applicable laws and international frameworks:

• The Copyright Ordinance 1962 (Pakistan) — as the primary jurisdiction of the institution.
• The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works — an international treaty to which Pakistan is a signatory, providing automatic copyright protection in over 180 countries without registration.
• The TRIPS Agreement (Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) — administered by the World Trade Organization, binding on all WTO member states.
• The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) — applicable to access from United States-based users and platforms.
• The EU Copyright Directive (2019/790) — applicable to access from European Union member states.

Trademark Notice

The name "Kanz ul Ilm International," its associated logo (if any), and the name "Kanz ul Ilm Quran Morphology Portal" are proprietary marks of Kanz ul Ilm International. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use these marks without our prior written consent.

Permitted Use

We built this Portal to serve students, researchers, and sincere seekers of Quranic knowledge. We therefore grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Portal for the following purposes only:

• Personal, non-commercial study and research of the Quranic text and its morphology.
• Academic citation of the Portal as a reference source, with proper attribution.
• Sharing links to this Portal with others for educational purposes.
• Printing individual pages for personal scholarly use, provided no commercial gain is involved.

Any use beyond the above requires our explicit prior written permission. Please contact us at info@kanzulilm.com to request such permission.

Prohibited Use

The following acts are strictly prohibited and may constitute civil and/or criminal violations under applicable law:

• Copy or reproduce the Portal's design, code, layout, or substantial portions of its content for use in any other website, application, or product — whether commercial or non-commercial — without written permission.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from this Portal using automated tools, bots, or scripts in a manner that exceeds normal human browsing or that circumvents technical measures.
• Reverse-engineer the Portal's JavaScript code, data structure, or transliteration logic for the purpose of replicating or competing with this Portal.
• Redistribute or republish any compiled or processed version of the Portal's data files (including quran-data-1.js, quran-data-2.js, quran-data-3.js) as your own work.
• Misrepresent ownership — claiming authorship of, or removing attribution from, any portion of this Portal's original work.
• Use this Portal commercially — including embedding it in a paid service, using it to generate advertising revenue on another platform, or selling access to its content — without a commercial licence from us.
• Frame or embed this Portal within another website or application without prior written consent.
• Interfere with the Portal's operation, security, or infrastructure in any way.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in legal action for damages, injunctive relief, and/or referral to relevant law enforcement authorities.

Third-Party Content & Licences

This Portal makes use of the following third-party resources, each governed by its own licence:

• Quranic Arabic Corpus v0.4 (Kais Dukes, University of Leeds) — licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This licence permits redistribution under the same terms; it does not grant any rights over our original presentation layer built upon this data.
• Tanzil Quran Text (Uthmani) — distributed by the Tanzil Project for non-commercial use. We use this text in accordance with Tanzil's terms, which require attribution and prohibit commercial exploitation.
• Ahmed Raza Khan English Translation — used for scholarly and educational purposes.
• Google Fonts (Amiri Quran, Scheherazade New, Playfair Display, Source Serif 4, Noto Nastaliq Urdu) — licensed under the SIL Open Font License and Apache License 2.0.

Our use of these resources does not imply any endorsement by their respective authors or institutions, nor does it transfer their licences to you beyond what those licences already permit.

Disclaimer of Warranties

This Portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we make every sincere effort to ensure the accuracy of the Quranic text and morphological data presented, we make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

• The accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content;
• Uninterrupted or error-free access to the Portal;
• Freedom from viruses or other harmful components (though we take reasonable precautions).

Users are encouraged to verify any scholarly information from authoritative primary Islamic sources before relying upon it for fatwa, academic publication, or religious instruction.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kanz ul Ilm International, its director, and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of:

• Your use of, or inability to use, this Portal;
• Any errors or omissions in the content;
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data;
• Any third-party conduct in connection with the Portal.

This limitation applies regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal theory asserted.

Sanctity of Quranic Content

The Holy Quran is the sacred word of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He). We hold its presentation on this Portal to the highest standard of accuracy and reverence. We unequivocally state that:

• No portion of the Quranic text displayed on this Portal has been altered, edited, or modified from the verified Uthmani Mushaf as distributed by the Tanzil Project.
• Any user who identifies a discrepancy in the Quranic text as rendered on this Portal is strongly encouraged to notify us immediately at info@kanzulilm.com so that it may be reviewed and corrected with the utmost urgency.
• This Portal must not be used in any manner that shows disrespect to the Quran, Islamic scholarship, or the Muslim community.

Copyright Infringement (DMCA Notice)

If you believe that any content on this Portal infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to us containing the following information, in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512):

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorised agent;
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
3. Identification of the material on our Portal that is claimed to be infringing;
4. Your contact information (address, telephone, and email);
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised;
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information provided is accurate.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.

For users accessing this Portal from outside Pakistan, you acknowledge that your use of this Portal is voluntary and that you submit to the jurisdiction described above for any matters arising from these Terms, to the extent permitted by your local law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
